Built by Passion. Backed by Experience.
From the mic to the marketing plan, our team brings decades of industry know-how to every contest we create.
At Touch of the North Events, we blend high-level event production with grassroots passion — and it all starts with our founders.
With nearly two decades on the mic at the world’s biggest wake events, Dano “The Mano” Amir brings deep industry knowledge, unmatched energy, and a front-row view of what makes a great contest truly stick. Jayne Levy complements that with a sharp eye for detail, decades of experience leading communications for national brands, and a knack for building authentic connections between communities and the events that bring them together. Together, they’re reimagining what grassroots competition can look like—welcoming, world-class and full of stoke.

CO-FOUNDER
Danny “Dano the Mano” Amir is one of the most recognizable voices in towed water sports. With nearly two decades behind the mic, Dano has announced the world’s premier pro and amateur wakeboarding and waterskiing events, including the iconic Nautique Masters of Waterski and Wakeboard. A trusted presence across the sport, he’s become a fixture to athletes, fans, and brands alike—bringing energy, insight, and authenticity to every stage he steps on.
Dano is also the founder and original host of The Golden Mic Podcast, the first and only podcast of its kind when it launched, spotlighting the athletes, stories, and evolution of towed water sports. Though the show wrapped in 2020, it helped spark a new wave of industry storytelling, inspiring other creators to step up to the mic and continue sharing the sport’s legacy.
Today, Dano serves as a Midwest Sales Rep for Roswell Marine and as an active ambassador for the Water Sports Industry Association, which honored him with the Larry Meddock Leadership Award in 2018. He brings that same passion and leadership to Touch of the North Events, helping grow the next generation of competitions from the shoreline up.
A lifelong watersports enthusiast, Dano grew up spending summers on Twin Lakes in Wisconsin and began skiing at age eight. He joined the Twin Lakes Aquanuts waterski show team in 1993, performing for 15 seasons and falling in love with the sport’s community spirit. From cleaning boats at a Northern Illinois dealership to slinging gear at Orlando’s iconic Performance Ski & Surf, Dano’s journey is a full-circle story rooted in stoke, and still going strong.
